Privacy Policy
ETC ExpenseTracker ("the App") is a personal finance companion. Your privacy is fundamental to how this app is built — all your financial data stays on your device.
Information We Collect
The App stores the following data locally on your device only:
- Expense records — transaction amounts, categories, dates, and notes you enter
- Biometric authentication data — fingerprint or Face ID, used solely to protect access to the App. This data is managed entirely by your device's operating system and is never accessible to the App itself
- App preferences — theme, currency, and display settings
How Your Data Is Used
- Expense records are used to generate charts, reports, and analytics within the App
- Biometric authentication is used solely to secure access to your financial data
- Your data is never analysed, profiled, or used for advertising purposes
Data Storage & Security
All data is stored in a local SQLite database on your device. No data is transmitted to any server, cloud service, or third party. When you uninstall the App, all stored data is permanently deleted.
Export files (PDF or Excel) are generated on-demand by you and saved to your device's local storage. These files are under your full control.

Third-Party Services
ETC ExpenseTracker does not integrate with any analytics, advertising, or cloud storage services. The only external network calls are to two public currency exchange rate APIs:
- Fawaz Ahmed Currency API (cdn.jsdelivr.net) — primary exchange rate source
- Frankfurter API (api.frankfurter.app) — fallback exchange rate source
These requests contain no personal data — only a request for exchange rate data. Rates are cached locally after fetching. All other libraries (charting, PDF/Excel export, notifications) operate entirely on-device.
Children's Privacy
The App does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13.
Changes to This Policy
If this privacy policy changes, the updated version will be published at this URL. Continued use of the App after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
