ETC Currency Converter

ETC Currency Converter is a simple, powerful currency conversion app. It is designed to work locally on your device and only contacts external services to fetch publicly available exchange rate data.

Information We Collect

The App collects and stores the following data locally on your device:

• Approximate location (one-time) — used only to detect your country so the App can automatically select your local currency as the default. Location data is processed on-device and is never transmitted to our servers.
• Cached exchange rates — currency rate data fetched from public APIs is stored locally for offline use
• App preferences — selected currencies, language, and theme

How Your Data Is Used

• Location is used once at first launch to set a sensible default currency — it is then discarded and stored only as a country/currency preference
• Exchange rate data is fetched from public, open-access APIs and cached locally to enable offline conversions
• No personal data is ever sent to any server operated by the developer

External Services

The App fetches exchange rate data from the following public APIs. Only rate data is requested — no personal information is included in these requests:

• Primary: cdn.jsdelivr.net/npm/@fawazahmed0/currency-api (open-source currency data)
• Fallback: api.frankfurter.app (open exchange rate API)

These services are subject to their own privacy policies. Please review them independently if required.

Data Storage & Security

Exchange rates are cached in a local SQLite database. App preferences are stored in local shared preferences. None of this data is transmitted to the developer or any third-party backend.

Device Permissions

Permission	Purpose
ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION	Detect your country to pre-select your local currency (one-time, on first launch)
INTERNET	Fetch current exchange rates from public APIs

Third-Party Analytics & Advertising

ETC Currency Converter contains no advertising and no third-party analytics SDKs. The only external network calls are to the exchange rate APIs listed above.

Children's Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13.

Changes to This Policy

If this privacy policy changes, the updated version will be published at this URL. Continued use of the App after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
